Under the able leadership of our Provincial, Sr. Rekha Chennattu and with the permission of the whole Province the Social center is began in Patna. The appalling condition of the poor people of Patna very specially Digha and the surrounding areas is a matter of great concern which encouraged the sisters to start a social center named, ‘Navjeevan Educational and Social Welfare Society, Digha’(NESWSD). It is a secular, non-political and non-profit NGO established and formally registered in 2013 under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860. The office is based at Fair Field colony, Digha Ghat. NESWSD began its activities in 2010. It is the brain and hard work of Sr. Veena and the community of Patna.

Sr. Veena with her competence in social work and proficient in network dreamed for a just world for the poorest of the poor and began this centre. The major areas of the ministry are education, empowerment of women, community health, working with the differently abled, legal aid, gender equality and migrant workers.
